The Egyptian people were the main people who made Egypt such a great civilization. The might of the soldiers and the military was something that was translated into the ideas of Pharaoh.

Egyptian Warriors

Although the ancient Egypt did not have a standing army as such the people and soldiers were always ready to fight a war. In fact, whenever the soldiers were required, the Pharaoh used to call the young and strong men. The army was formed for quite a temporary basis because once the war or a fight was over, they were sent back.

These people then used to go back to their villages and live the normal lives. The army’s life was very much determined by the campaign’s tenure.

What happens now is very different from what used to happen then. The army that could be divided into two parts

1. National service

2. Military career

If someone joined the national service, then that person could be there and get trained for a year or two. He could, later on, be called anytime whenever there is a need.

The military career was such that as a child the parents would sign their ward to the army. Such a person would then spend his entire lifetime in the army. He could not join any other profession other than being in the army.

There were some examples of military men who rose to such a level that they became kings. Some other people also became among the royal rulers of the country.

The pride and glory that was associated with his career were something that everyone wanted to cherish.

A 5 years old child could sign himself up and for the other career after the age of 20.

Military Training

The military training to the ancient Egyptian warriors was about getting the haircut and also included inductions. The soldiers were given training on being obedient and also about listening to the orders.

Some of the aspects on which they were trained included stick fighting, charioteering, firefighting, wrestling, spearing, and target patients.

Based on the skills and the learning of the soldier, the job roles were assigned.

Harder than the induction was the training.

Some of the weapons that were used by the ancient Egyptian warriors included:

1. Bow and arrow

2. Sticks

3. Aces

4. Spears

5. Maces

The ancient Egyptian warriors had to wear helmets and gloves while using this equipment.
